Appearance
Appearance controls how NEXUS looks, not how it behaves — theme mode, a built-in color theme, and an optional custom color for the sidebar. Nothing here changes layout, performance, or what any control does; it's purely visual.
Controls
| Label | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Theme mode | Auto, Light, or Dark. | Auto |
| Theme | A built-in color theme, chosen from a swatch list. | System |
| Sidebar Background | A custom sidebar color. | Not set |
| Reset to Default | Clears a custom sidebar color. Shown only once one is set. | — |
Notes
Auto follows your system's light/dark setting, so NEXUS switches automatically when your system does. Choosing Light or Dark pins NEXUS to that appearance regardless of what the rest of your system is doing.
Sidebar Background is scoped to the sidebar specifically — it doesn't recolor panes, the Inspector, or the toolbar. It layers on top of whichever Theme you've picked, so switching themes doesn't clear a custom sidebar color you've already set; use Reset to Default for that.
