Settings
NEXUS has two settings surfaces. App Settings is the ten-section window covering the app as a whole; it applies every change immediately. Contextual settings is a different panel that targets whatever you currently have selected — a workspace, a session, an agent, a bit page, a file, a neural-map node, or a multi-selection — and, for the first five of those, stages your edits behind an explicit Save.
For the exact control-by-control contract — every label, what it does, and its default — see the Settings reference. Each section below has its own page with the same table plus the context to use it.
App Settings
| Section | Covers |
|---|---|
| General | App identity, the (currently disabled) language picker, full-screen behavior, and quick links into other views. |
| Account | Signing in or out of your Chainabit account, and your plan's limits and features. |
| Appearance | Theme mode, a built-in color theme, and an optional custom sidebar color. |
| Performance | The optional ambient overlay effect, and how often system monitoring refreshes. |
| Agents Settings | 3D Room, Session Replay, mesh messaging and provider syncing, Cross-Agent Orchestration, and a terminal visual effect. |
| Persistence | The folder holding every agent's home directory, and the paid-plan Backup & Sync feature. |
| Notifications | The master notification switch and which events notify you. |
| Voice | Activation, audio devices, recognition, speech output, wake phrase, safety, and transcript privacy. Off by default, end to end. |
| Keyboard Shortcuts Settings | Terminal font size, Option key behavior, and your own custom terminal shortcuts — not NEXUS's built-in shortcuts. |
| Terms & Policies | Third-party attributions, and links to Chainabit's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. |
Contextual settings
Selecting almost anything in NEXUS exposes a matching settings panel: a workspace, a session, an agent, a bit page, a file, a neural-map node, or a multi-selection. The first five of those stage your changes behind Save and Cancel, guarded by an "Unsaved Changes" confirmation if you try to navigate away; a neural-map node and a multi-selection summary apply immediately instead, since neither edits a persisted field. See Contextual settings for the full breakdown of all seven.
